AlphaLAW Legal Software

Press Release

MSS Introduces Convergence product for legal IT systems

MSS will be introducing a TAPI interface allowing its AlphaLAW-Vanatage software to take advantage of the full TAPI facilities. With it, law firms can add services for managing telephone calls from within a software application, without the need to alter the original software.

Recognising the increasing convergence of voice and data technologies MSS has added a new product feature to its AlphaLAW-Vantage software: a fully featured CTI (computer telephony integration) compatible telephone system and software module to provide integration with their AlphaLAW-Vantage software solution.

The "screen popping" software, in conjunction with a CTI compatible telephone system, provides quick access to client information when the telephone number of the incoming call is recognised. It then allows links to other information such as ledgers and time recording. On screen management provides sophisticated call handling features allowing calls to be diverted internally or externally, including to mobile telephones, or to voicemail.

The major benefits that law firms can enjoy with TAPI functionality are improved customer service and greater productivity, resulting in increased revenues.

TAPI services provide for all aspects of usage of the telephone network. This includes connecting to the network, placing and accepting calls; call management features (such as transferring calls, setting up conference calls), use of calling number identification (Caller ID), and more. TAPI supports ISDN as well as other connection types. The new TAPI system will be demonstrated on the MSS stand at the Legal IT Exhibition, 12 and 13 February 2003.
