New functions added to ClaimIT - finding the 'gone aways' and automatic scanning of incomming documents and recording with debt details

AlphaLaw has added new exceptional functionality to ClaimIT, its debt recovery package, to help users trace that trickiest of debtor, the ‘gone away’ – a debtor whose address has changed and whereabouts are unknown.

The integration with Data Discoveries’ Fastrac™ system comes as an automatic scanning function has also been added to ClaimIT, ensuring that all documents relating to a particular recovery process are stored in one place.

A one-click connection automatically logs the user into the Fastrac web-based system and checks the debtor’s recorded address. If it is incorrect, the user can then use Fastrac’s powerful search features to locate the debtor.

Fastrac uses Data Discoveries’ unique Masterfiles, which have been created by cross-referencing several data sources, including the Electoral Roll. It traces individuals back over eight years of data and then, using co-habitee and date information, searches forward to locate where they are today. ClaimIT users must also be signed up to Fastrac to access the service.

Kevin Draper, sales manager of AlphaLAW, says: “Tracing ‘gone aways’ is a constant concern for debt recovery specialists, but they should no longer be a reason to terminate the debt recovery process. The combination of ClaimIT and Fastrac will dramatically improve the verification of debtors’ addresses and with it the collection of some of the most difficult debts.”

Meanwhile, the new document-scanning function means that incoming documents – forms, letters and so on – can now be automatically scanned and their images stored in the debt’s document folder. This already holds copies of the documents produced by ClaimIT, and the new feature ensures that all documents relating to the recovery process, both sent and received, can be stored in one place.

Kevin Draper says: “This new feature enables users to have immediate access to the complete documentary history of the recovery process. It reduces paperwork, improves efficiency and also allows those unfamiliar with a file to get up to speed quickly.”
